The computational speed of Jiuzhang 3.0 is calculated to be 10^16 times faster than the current fastest supercomputer in the world when performing Gaussian calculations. However, it pales in comparison to the computational power of the Jiuzhang 3.0 quantum computing prototype. Jiuzhang 3.0 is a photon-based quantum computer featuring a memristor array composed of 76 photons. Its efficient on-chip learning capabilities make it ideal for solving specific complex problems like Gaussian Boson Sampling (GBS). According to the published paper in “Science,“ the Jiuzhang 3.0 quantum computing prototype processes Gaussian boson sampling problems at a speed one trillion times faster than the current fastest supercomputer.
