Dance Factory (1928)

No title. Chorus girls do high kick routine on a small stage. C/U of their legs as they kick out towards the audience. They wear little gingham shorts and gingham tops and all have 1920s short bob haircuts. More high kicking and dancing. “Only loose limbs will enable a girl to attain this “high art“. One girl stands centre stage and kicks her leg up very high indeed. Three other girls stand and watch with their legs crossed. The girls look quite young. This could be a dancing school’s show or something like that, although paper records state that it is a “Max Rivers Stage Dancer.“ Intertitle states: “All dance teachers believe pupils should start young.“ M/S of three pupils doing handstands and going right over into “crab“ position. They stand up and repeat the acrobatics. A male teacher gives tuition to a girl dancing in black shorts and top - she is doing some show style tap dancing. She looks into a mirror as she practices her steps. Was item in Eve’s Film Review issue 380. FILM
