I bought my first Frankie Knuckles record in 1987, the tune was titled “It’s a Cold World“ I had been hearing amazing things about Frankie from my friends that would make the 4 hour drive from Detroit to Chicago to hear him spin at Chi-town’s legendary club’s: The Warehouse and later in the 80’s, The Power Plant. Frankie Knuckles aka “The Godfather of House Music“ was known for his amazing 6 hour DJ Sets and his terrific Remixes. The second Frankie tune I remember buying was “Tears“ a groovy song he did with Chicago legend and former Fingers Inc. vocalist Robert Owens. But it wasn’t until 1991 that “The Godfather“ took the world dance floors by storm with his massive hit: “The Whistle Song.“ Frankie had finally gone Global! \o/ This Mix features “Tears“ and “The Whistle Song“ and a few of his remixes that you maybe d
