In Europe, primeval methods of keeping oneself warm are making a comeback. Short on luck, Europeans are now hoarding on firewood as an intense energy crisis takes a toll on consumer confidence across the 27-nation strong European Union. Europe’s energy crisis is pushing Polish citizens to burn trash and Romania to cap the price of firewood. Poland’s capital city of Warsaw and its surrounding areas are now consumed by the smell of trash burning. A survey shows approximately 60% of Polish households not having enough coal to get through the winter. An EU-wide ban on Russian coal has made matters worse for Poland.
