Independent probe into Tasmania Police’s handling of child abuse allegations | ABC News

Tasmania Police Commissioner Donna Adams says an independent review has begun into the police force’s handling of allegations of child sexual abuse against a former senior officer. Senior Sergeant Paul Reynolds served in the force for almost four decades until his death by suicide in September 2018, when he was being investigated for multiple offences. His case was highlighted in the final report of the Tasmanian child sexual abuse commission of inquiry, which found not enough had been done in 2008 when “credible reports“ emerged about Senior Sergeant Reynolds’s behaviour.
