Game Recap: Penguins vs. Capitals () | Bryan Rust’s Great Two-Goal Game

Bryan Rust started the game strong with a goal. That was followed by another scored by Brandon Tanev just 32 seconds later. During the second period, Rust scored yet another goal—a power-play goal, no less—to break the Penguins’ scoreless streak with the man-advantage. A goal by Jake Guentzel later in the 2nd period gives the Penguins a two-goal lead, their first of the season. Rust earned his 100th career assist on the Guentzel tally. During the 3rd period, the Penguins held things down defensively, while Zach Aston-Reese and Sidney Crosby each scored empty-net goals.
