Самый красивый самолёт Ту-144

24 августа 2019 года в Жуковском на центральном въезде в Летно-исследовательский институт им. М. М. Громова был открыт мемориал легендарному советскому сверхзвуковому пассажирскому самолету Ту-144 . Самолёт Ту-144 установлена на три опоры так, чтобы нос самолета был поднят, как будто тот взлетает. Длина самолёта — 60 метров, а вес — около 120 тонн. На подготовку самолета и проектной документации в целом ушло около четырех лет. В качестве монумента был выбран серийный самолет, установивший в июле 1983 года серию международных рекордов по замкнутому маршруту 2000 км. После торжественной церемонии открытия летчики-испытатели на истребителях Су-30МКК, МиГ-35 и самолете-бомбардировщике Ту-95 «Медведь» пролетели над мемориалом. В перспективе у подножия самолета планируется создать музейный павильон, а внутри фюзеляжа открыть интерактивный музей.
