A snowy winter in one of the cities of central Russia after the New Year holidays. Kostroma, located on the banks of the Volga River to the northeast of Moscow, is a historic city rich in cultural heritage and beautiful natural landscapes. It is renowned for its Orthodox churches, including the famous Ipatiev Monastery, which played a key role in Russian history. Kostroma is also known for its folk crafts such as patchwork and wood carving, as well as traditional Russian holidays and folklore. We’ll take a stroll through the crisp snow and invigorating frost, with occasional glimpses of the low sun peering through the clouds and illuminating the city with an orange glow.
