The Record Sweep Aka Irish Sweepstake (1932)

Full title reads: “Dublin. The Record ’Sweep’ - 200 girls dressed as jockeys mix 9,000,000 counterfoils in the ’Golden Hall of Hope’.“ Dublin, Eire, Republic of Ireland, Southern Ireland. Young women dressed as horse race jockeys push small trucks round a room on rails. The trucks all have a picture of a horse on them. Other women are collecting things out of the truck. High angle shot showing that the trucks are full of pieces of paper - presumably entries for the Irish Sweepstake or lottery. The papers are being loaded into a large machine in the middle of the room. (Thanks to Paraic O Lochlain for informing us that this is most likely a draw of the Irish Hospitals Sweepstakes - some kind of Lottery Draw.) Sound Track Missing FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
