Indian Rubber Muscles (1928)

No title. Miss Reita Mugent (according to paper records) performs an “Indian Rubber Muscles“ dance. Dance includes acrobatics, cartwheels, high-kicks, C/U of Reita winking at the camera, balletic turns, etc. There is an unusual top shot of Reita walking on her hands which seems pretty saucy and voyeuristic. An intertitle reads: “The all-revealing slow-camera proves that Miss Nugent shows perfect form in every action.“ We see her spin in slow motion. “So long as Eve can go through this “routine“ she need never fear Old Man Avoirdupois.“ Slow motion of part of the dance where Reita does a handstand and cartwheels, showing her legs, stocking tops and knickers. Was originally an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 371. Safety print only - original decomposed and destroyed. Note: I think the correct spelling of Reita’s name is Nugent.
