Made up of German artists Jan de Vice and JP Silence, the Electric Dada alias was revealed to the world in 2020. The duo’s progressive style was immediately recognized for its emotive qualities and strong dancefloor sensibility. A transcendent sound which would see them go on to release key projects via Univack and Massive Harmony Records, while also earning the praise of the underground’s tastemakers. Now, presenting their first single of 2023, Electric Dada debuts on Dopamine White with ’Liquid Dope Skin’, alongside a remix from Paul Deep. Looking to diversify their portfolio further, Electric Dada calls on the vocal talents of Mawine. Together the trio craft a sweeping sonic experience all their own, where full key changing grooves and driving percussion set the course for emotive arps and balmy atmospheres. Mawine’s breathy wails morph into boisterous chants making for a unique balance of elegance and power, while astral stabs and retro acid lines propel the track to an epic finale. The release concludes with Paul Deep making his return on the label with the lone interpretation of ’Liquid Dope Skin’. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale and Tone, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul’s sound, which often sits in the creative space between progressive and organic house. Dopamine Music has also been a regular landing spot for the Buenos Aires resident, with five appearances since making his label debut in 2017. Now, following a remix of ’Cycles’ by fellow countryman Juan Deminicis, Paul makes a welcome return to Dopamine with a heady take on ’Liquid Dope Skin’. Rather than burst into a dancefloor whirlwind or electronic symphony, Paul’s remix evokes its emotions through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing its conceptual charm; as crunchy rhythms, striking chord stabs and hypnagogic synths unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Argentine’s progressive attitude reveals itself during a final of tension filled noise, deconstructed vocals and cosmic arps.
