Drone Attack Hits Russia’s Kursk, Zelensky Calls For NATO, EU Accession, Ramaphosa In Ukraine

A large-scale fire broke out in the Russian city of Kursk on June 16, Ukrainska Pravda reported citing Russian telegram channels. The fire was allegedly caused by a drone attack on a nearby communication tower. Russian telegram channel Baza reported that the attack took place in the village of Krasnikovo. According to Russian media, the fire was spread across an area of 1.5 thousand square metres after spreading to a warehouse. Ukraine said that its forces shot down a total of 24 Russian drones in the last 24 hours. Kyiv said that two Russian Shahed drones were shot down in the Mykolaiv region overnight on June 16. Ukraine’s General Staff also reported that its forces killed some 590 Russian soldiers in the last 24 hours. Ukraine said its Air Force launched 13 strikes on enemy personnel clusters over the past day.
