Boy from Gaza shares his story of finding a cat terrified by war

A boy from Gaza narrates his experience with a local cat affected by the Israeli air strikes, saying: “The whole world is terrified of the war, even the cats. We found her behind the fridge last time and under the couch another time, in places we don’t even know.” Reports earlier this year highlighted an increase in adoption of cats by families in Gaza, despite the tough economic situation, due to their popularity with young children and the mental health support they provide in dealing with trauma suffered from previous wars and the coronavirus pandemic.
