A Trip to Killburn

A Trip to Kilburn (sometimes Killburn) is an English Country Dance from Playford’s Dancing Master of 1718 (at this point the Dancing Master was published by John Young). It was interpreted by Cecil Sharp in 1916. Found in “The Playford Assembly“. It is a proper triple minor dance. Sharp replaced Playford’s music with that of another Playford Dance, Black and Grey. It was performed by Colin Hume. The animation plays at 111 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
