Hillsong UNITED - Oceans (Yasin Güven Remix) [Lyric Video]

What a pleasant surprise it was to see Yasin Güven share this remix! When I was a younger teen, this song would play on the radio all the time, so I heard it plenty. I don’t typically listen to much modern Christian “pop rock“ (all sounds rather similar to me), but this one has always been special, both for its composition and it’s lyrical content. It’s a great song about the power of faith in God in the darkest of times. Case in point, we had a close family friend who died of cancer back in 2017. It was a dark, painful time for her, and her family, and all their friends. Still, “Oceans“ was her favorite song. Despite all the darkness and inevitable death she faced, her faith gave her assurance that she wasn’t abandoned, and that was her greatest joy. In a small way, “Oceans“ captures that “peace that surpasses all understanding“ (Philippians 4:7). Huge props to Yasin Güven for this remix! It’s faithful to the original’s
