About us At Long Story Short we have a big dream to make our little hometown even nicer. We hope to welcome people from all corners of the world to share the Czech Republic’s best kept secret. To make it even more interesting, we have built this contemporary hostel in a very special place. Located in the historical centre of Olomouc, Long Story Short is for anyone who is looking for a break from the ordinary. It’s simple, affordable, well-designed yet still more than just a hostel. Here you will find a unique mix of dorms and private rooms for up to 56 people, an in-house café & bar, meeting room, free WiFi and more. Outside, you can take a seat in the magical garden or gradient terraces overlooking the petanque pit. The hostel itself is constantly expanding. In summer the common areas are extended with an outdoor terrace with an original outside grill and bar for summer days filled with live music, dance theme nights or acoustic concerts. New addition to the Long Story Short concept is a restaurant Eatery & Bakery which opened in the beginning of 2020. Eatery has app. 90 seats inside and 120 seats outside on a second spacious terrace in the courtyard. It’s located on the ground floor of the building and with its well thought out and minimal design it makes it perfect for events of all kinds including weddings as well. Eatery & Bakery is a culinary mosaic serving contemporary food, made with respect to nature and its seasonal produce. You will always find vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options here as the theme of veg meals has been popular with us right from the start, and the primary vision of the concept as a whole is the idea that everyone at one table has equally full-fledged experience. Even though we get most of our produce from nearby farms and producers in Moravia region, we bring a lot of foreign flavours into the mix as well. Apart from everyday sale of freshly baked goods and our signature sourdough wheat-rye bread along with other produce, we offer casual lunches, creative share-plate style dinners as well as dining experience evenings known as ‘chef’s table’. We are perfect for small weddings, functions and company parties. Just ask us, we love to change it up for everyone, after all, isn’t that how the best stories are made?
