The Wild Hunt is depicted as a horde of supernatural spirits, beings, and animals, led by a host often believed to be Odin (also known as Wodan’s Hunt). It is believed that if one were to witness the Wild Hunt, it would forebode a great disastrous event, and their spirit would be sucked into the mass in the sky resulting in death of the human form. It is also believed that the horde can steal the spirits from those asleep when passing overhead through the skies, drafting them into the hunt, underworld, or fairy kingdom.
