The Black Mesa Incident - Archival Footage NBC (reconstruction)

“When the “Black Mesa Incident“ occured on December 5th, 2000, it was the subject of several breaking news bulletins. A mass casualty event the likes of which hadn’t been seen since the Civil War, the Black Mesa Incident was the single most expensive accident in the history of the United States both in terms of money and human lives. Many of the breaking news bulletins were lost in the chaos following the event, however several pieces of coverage survived in audio form. This video uses stock footage to reconstruct what was, at the time, coverage of an ongoing disaster the likes of which the world had never seen. -------------- Out of universe, this video is based on events from Neinfeld’s Black Mesa/Combine Takeover videos and uses AI to reconstruct the voices of journalists and world leaders. It’s an attempt at a piece of ’alternate history’ from the Half-Life universe.
