F 35B Crashing Into The Ground After A Mid Air Collision With A KC-130J

On Sept. 29, 2020, a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B and a KC-130J belonging to the VMGR-352 “Raiders” based at MCAS Miramar, were involved in a mid-air collision during AAR (Air-to-Air Refueling) operations. The KC-130J performed a safe crash landing on a field in southern California. The single pilot aboard the STOVL variant of the Lightning II stealth jet ejected safely.
