Journey through Iran

In late 2013 I had the chance to travel through Iran for around 5 weeks, a great possibility to see more of a country that captivated my attention in previous years. Mostly making headlines for all the wrong reasons, there had to be more to a country with such a long and diverse history. This travel video is a modest attempt to show some of the diversity that exists in Iran. It was edited in early 2014 and should be seen in a different (political) context than today’s. The economic sanctions, that have recently been eased, were still very much in place. Many people were struggling to make a living, yet there always seemed a way to make things happen. The openess and welcoming attitude of the Iranian people were probably the things that most impressed me. Walking the ancient bazaars was a great way to meet people and talk about daily life.
