Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - ’Carbon Freeze’ scene [1080]

Ever since I first watched this magnificent film as a young child, this scene on Bespin impressed me the most. Now, with more film appreciation skills at my disposal, I can see why it’s such a perfect and enthralling scene, even after countless viewings. The pathos, the relationships, the dialogue, the acting, the set, the lighting, the cinematography, the sound effects and of course the music are all excellent, and they make this moment stand out, even with all that follows shortly after. Starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher (who passed away today, and will be sorely missed), Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Bulloch, David Prowse, and John Hollis. Written by George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan, directed by Irvin Kershner, and with one of the best film scores of all time by John Williams. The wonderful Love Theme and the famous Imperial March both get a moment to shine here, and its the latter, followed by the thud as he hits the floor that used to terrify me as a child.
