Protesting the CalArts Administration & Petition

Please consider signing the Petition: The partial text of the Petition follows: “Beginning of the school year (09/11) at California Institute of the Arts ( @calartsofficial ), pioneer of experimental music and the former Dean of the School of Music at CalArts, David C. Rosenboom (@DavidRosenboom) was forced to leave his position as a Composer-Performer and Experimental Sound Practices Faculty after 33 years of service. . . . With this public appeal, I request the CalArts upper Administration to release the documents a) capturing its policy re. sexual misconduct & professional ethics, and b) make an official statement providing strong reasons for expelling David Rosenboom from the CalArts community. Otherwise (or alongside), David Rosenboom shall be given : a) public apologies by the Office of the President and Administration of the School of Music; b) Emeritus status at CalArts (if he accepts) - recognizing his immense contribution to the Institute’s history and outstanding achievements as an administrator, educator, and mentor.
