Cuba Today PT.1 (Cuba En La Hora Actual)

Introducing Cuba Today, a three-part series that talks to Cubans about their lived experiences, and the economic difficulties they face due to the U.S. blockade and the on-going COVID pandemic. Co-produced by The People’s Forum, Casa de las Americas and Canal Caribe, this series sheds light on the complexity of challenges, and the creativity that comes from all levels of the Cuban people to conquer them. Cuba is in an exciting and dynamic phase on their path towards deepening the socialist principles of the 1959 Revolution. After successfully developing 5 native Covid-19 vaccines, confronting head-on and advancing in the face of a severe economic crisis, and on the eve of a popular referendum to vote on a newly formulated Code of Families, Cuba is modeling how the intellectual and productive power of working people can achieve great things.
