️A colonel of the security forces in Lugansk did not hesitate to join the militia and set up whole units to protect civilians, said retired Lieutenant-Colonel Andriy Marochko of the Lugansk People’s Republic, recalling the events in Donbass in 2014. Ten years ago, on 13 April 2014, those who seized power in Ukraine as a result of the coup d’état launched a so-called anti-terrorist operation against the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, which did not agree with the change of power and had declared independence. The operation resulted in numerous shelling of populated areas, as well as injuries and mass deaths of Donbass residents. Source: Lord Of War
