This is the E3 2003 demo of “Hallucination“, an early build of Resident Evil 4.
In this version, Leon was to experience disturbing hallucinations of monsters trying to kill him rather than having . It may be that he was infected with the Progenitor virus in this version, like the preceding “Castle“ version, though no script for “Hallucination“ was made.
This version was scrapped due to a number of technical limitations on the GameCube at the time. The game was to load hallucination-exclusive objects and enemies into a room so they could appear immediately when the hallucination is triggered (crossing a hidden checkpoint after doing certain things), but the number of 3D objects being duplicated for the hallucination wasted the RAM, preventing enemies from spawning.
