Fighter Plane Assists Satellite Launch In DARPA Animation

DARPA’s Airborne Launch Assist Space Access program (ALASA) plans to create low cost (less the 1 millions dollars per launch.) alternative for small satellite launches. The plan calls for a conventional aircraft to carry an “expendable launch vehicle“ that can carry satellites up to 100 lbs in weight. (Full Story)
