Sober, Up The Pole (1962)

Titles read: “HOLLAND - SOBER, UP THE POLE“. Netherlands. Two young men use long poles to vault across a river in the countryside (windmill in background). We then see various shots at the Winssum Annual Championship where a large crowd watches competitors vault across a stretch of water on long poles. The contestants take a long run, then leap into the air, managing to clutch a pole stuck in the water bed as they come down and get to dry land. Some just tip over into the drink. Two winning men and one woman (Miss Penninga) pose with garlands around their necks. The two men shake hands (one of them is Mr Valkema). FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
