Johan G. Winther - Permanent Sojourner

“The Rupturing Sowle” was an album born in isolation. A product of its surroundings as much as of the idea and concepts behind it. It was recorded in a small room in a small cabin in the Swedish countryside, with the fire crackling and the walls creaking around it. The structure almost becoming the main performer of the album. Permanent Sojourner acts as an extension of The Rupturing Sowle, letting the listener into the very room that the album came to life in, letting the viewer peek in through the window at Johan G Winther while at work in the studio and shows a glimpse of the daily routines surrounding it. It’s an intimate portrait of a creative space, and it’s vessel. A few selected tracks which ended up on “The Rupturing Sowle” are featured, as well as the track “Dränkstenen” which was recorded during the same time as the album. This track is a dark descent into the depths, it’s title meaning “The Drowningstone”, or the stone put into the bag to weigh something or someone down when being sunk.
