Burnt by the sun - Sophie Solomon (Lyrics)

Burnt by the sun - Sophie Solomon (Lyrics) Sophie Solomon is a British violinist, songwriter and composer (born June 6, 1978) who fuses many different musical influences into her music. She began playing the violin at the age of two. At four she met Yehudi Menuhin and was taken to see the great cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. For the first five years she played totally by ear, learning to read music at the age of seven. Even though the National Children’s Orchestra and ProCorda heralded her as one of the most promising violinists of her generation, Sophie “was never completely satisfied by the classical world alone, I felt constrained by the fact that the music was written down and the strict parameters of the repertoire. I felt I had to step outside of that and find my own voice.“ She studied at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, and later at University College, Oxford (University of Oxford) graduating in 1999 with a First Class degree in Modern History and Russian. She also holds an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics. I was burnt by the sun said good bye to the sea when I saw you were losing your love for me Your eyes told the tale of a wound that’s still raw as I watched you renouncing any hope of a cure How can I be bitter that it’s over after all I’ve got myself to blame the sun dissolves to winter now it’s over I’m lost amongst the shadows that remain Then your words rang out strong at once broken but clear and I heard you dismissing any last trace of fear I was burnt by the sun tried in vain not to cry since I knew all the answers tell me why I ask why How can I be bitter that it’s over after all I’ve got myself to blame the sun dissolves to winter now it’s over I’m lost amongst the shadows that remain Now the swing in your step makes me tremble with hurt when I see how you blossom I feel lost and inert I’ve been burnt by the sun in my Prozac cocoon just can’t pick up the pieces of my life without you just can’t pick up the pieces of my life without you
