Large Prominence Eruption - Solar Activity January 9-10. 2024.

A large prominence eruption was observed from SDO and GOES-16 SUVI solar spacecrafts late on December 9, 2024. The associated CME is not Earth-directed. Solar activity reached moderate levels with an solar flare. The source is likely an active sunspot from the east limb. The next 24 to 48 hours we’ll have a better view of this sunspot when it will turn on the visible solar disk. Thanks for watching!
