Horse Chestnut Cluster - Preview with Billy Showell ⎮Watercolour Beautiful

To try this weeks tutorial in full sign up here Happy Autumn in the northern hemisphere and happy Spring in the southern hemisphere. I am so excited to share this week’s tutorial with you. We have painted a horse chestnut before but this time it’s a whole cluster with fresh and dry cases. In this tutorial, I am using my new size 1 brush and I show you how I layer texture and washes to achieve the roundness and detail of the subject. I am painting on the enhanced quality, Fabriano Artistico, extra white, but if you are going to try it out, please just buy one sheet to start with, try both sides and see if it suits you, not all papers suit all artists and so it’s good to test it first to see if you want to make the leap. I love this subject and we will return to this painting to add a large leaf to complement the study. Happy painting. Peace and happiness Billy x MB011TIKHLL13RJ
