Ensemble: New York Pro Musica Album: Spanish Medieval Music Video: Cantigas de Santa MarΓ­a, XIII secolo β€’ New York Pro Musica was a music ensemble specialized in Medieval and Renaissance music and based in New York City. It was founded in 1952 by Noah Greenberg, a choral director, and Bernard Krainis, a recorder player. Initially the name of the ensemble was Pro Musica Antiqua. Recently I’ve upload their wonderful version of β€œThe Play of Danielβ€œ recorded in 1958 () which has since become a popular liturgical drama among early music groups. This record is from 1960 and is about the Spanish music of the middle ages. The album includes twelve Cantigas de Santa Maria, a Liturgy from the XII century of Santiago de Compostela and a Mass in Honor of The Blessed Virgin Mary from the XIV century.
