Mark Korven - Amanda’s Heartbeat

An electronic looping performance by Mark Korven on the Sarello, a new instrument created by luthier Tony Duggan-Smith with a 1/2 size cello body and a neck similar to the east Indian sarangi. It is played in the same manner as the sarangi, that is by free sliding with the fingernails, rather than by pressing down on the strings on to the fingerboard. It has 10 resonating strings, and three melodic strings.
