Royal Albatross ~ Day & Night Gliders! Chicks Continue Flight Practice! Tiaki Is Still Here!

A rabbit is seen at Tiaki’s nest and then several black backed gulls swoop down vocalizing as they search for nesting material or any scraps of food that may be around. Tiaki is still on the headland but she has moved out of view of the cam. Throughout the day and into the early evening, several of the chicks continue to practice their flight exercises and hovering skills. At this distance it is hard to know who is who out there - maybe Tiaki was one of them in the distance. At the end of the video with the dark evening sky - that may be SSTrig hovering on the right hand side! Ranger Colin is seen walking the colony to get a head count on all the chicks and as of Sept 10th there have not been any additional fledges beside Quarry chick. ♥♥ Let’s hope that LGL or LGK can find Tiaki where ever she may be when they come in.
