Ableton Tips: How To Play Riser WHOOSH Sound Effect Transition Live (Ableton Live 11 Tutorial video)

Whoosh riser sound effects make for a great transition between scenes, but how do you incorporate them into your live performances? Well, there’s 2 ways: you can have a white noise riser/fall MIDI clip which you then trigger at the right time or you can just “play“ them live with your MIDI keyboard. There’s upsides and downsides to both approaches: launching a clip is good for sync - the timing will never be off, but you have to wait for the number of bars specified in the “sync“ value field for the transition to happen; playing it live means you could potentially be off with your timing, but on the flip side you can freely apply the riser/fall whenever you please, without having to wait. In this video I’ll walk you through both scenarios. My suggestion would be to get the best of both worlds and implement them both into your live sets! 00:00 Quick live demo 00:20 Intro: 2 methods 01:07 1. Instrument rack 02:11 2.
