Chansin’ the 500 MPH Dream

It was Don Vesco’s dream to be the first person in a wheel driven car to go 500 mph. After his death in 2002, brother Rick Vesco took up the dream by modifying the Turbinator. On Oct. 2, 2018, with driver Dave Spangler, Turbinator II succeeded in breaking the 500 mph barrier on the Bonneville Salt Flats with a speed of mph.
