The Serpent’s Egg

Ingmar Bergman Movie 1977. David Carradine & Liv Ulmann. The Story of a Jewish fella who runs away from the Circus to run away from the Proto-Nazis to sleep with his dead brothers wife. While they are together some awful Tom foolery is a foot indeed! Not considered Bergman at his best but, I would disagree and not be so harsh as most. The story certainly has less psychological depth than ’Hour of the Wolf’ or less Intellectual curiosity than ’The Seventh Seal’. I would say on Par with ’Virgin Spring’ for good old fashioned story telling though. * * ’s_Egg_(film)
