Classic TV Theme: The X Files (Full Stereo)

A landmark in sci-fi television, ’The X Files’ (1993) had its ups and downs but at its best wove a compelling web of speculative fiction. Fifteen years after its nine-season run, Mulder and Scully were back in a reunion series; with only a relative handful of episodes it was more like a miniseries but at least they gave the show a proper finale. Mark Snow’s whistling theme has become a musical signature for the unknown and it underwent only minor changes over the years.
