Ştefan, Ştefan, Domn cel Mare - (Stephen, Stephen, the Great Ruler)

(For English subtitles, turn on YouTube subtitles) ●▬▬▬▬▬✦⋆English⋆✦▬▬▬▬▬● „Ştefan, Ştefan, Domn cel mare” is a Romanian patriotic song about Stephen the Great. It was written by Vasile Alecsandri. The song is also known as „Cântecul lui Ștefan cel Mare” (The Song of Stephen the Great). Stephen the Great was Prince of Moldavia between 1457-1504. He is known for his battles (36 in number) of which 34 were won by him. Stephen the Great fought against Hungarians, Poles, Tatars, Ottomans and Wallachians. His most famous battle being the Battle of Vaslui 1475 which is considered the greatest defeat of the Ottomans in history. He is also known for the monasteries/churches built by him in the region of Moldavia, the most famous being the Putna Monastery and the Voroneț Monastery, Voroneț being part of UNESCO due to its unique paintings. ●▬▬▬&#
