’God Save the King’ - 1905 Edwardian Recording

’God Save the King’ is the British national anthem, and it is traditionally associated with the British monarchy. During the Edwardian Era (1901 -1910), the anthem and many other British songs began to be recorded more and more as technology advanced. I believe this recording is one of the oldest vocal versions of the song, ahead only of an older 1902 recording. The recording of this anthem from 1905 shows the technology for audio recordings was still relatively new at the time.
