Ireland’s Future (1922)

No title. Group of earnest politicians pose for the camera outside a country house or possibly a government building. Camera pans across them as they pose “photography“ style, some sitting and some standing. There are a few priests amongst them and at least one military officer. No-one recognised by this cataloguer. The group breaks up and walks towards the camera. The men are possibly the winners of the first elections held in Northern Ireland. WPA cataloguer suggests that they could be from the southern parliament - the Dail - almost all of whom were members of Sinn Fein. Paper records read: “Men of the Empire and Britons now devising colonial home rule scheme in Dublin.“ which may throw some light on things for those who know their 1920s Irish politics! (Not me obviously!) Note: This is the story “Ireland’s Future“ from ON61 - spliced into the wrong reel at some point - it has been decided to leave it where it is, as it was not duped when the ONs were duped.
