“I Can’t Become a Lovely Girl“ - Harumaki Gohan 10th Anniversary AMV (僕は可憐な少女にはなれない)

I like making AMVs that fit the lyrics, so this one does as well!!) original song - Harumaki Gohan made a song to celebrate 10 years of being a Vocaloid producer that came out just the other day, so naturally I had to make an AMV with as many Harumaki Gohan MVs that I could fit in! I jumped onto translating this 10th anniversary song the day it came out! It’s a beautiful song about not being feminine, and projecting femininity onto created characters as a means of self-expression. About how that sort of insecurity ended up turning into something beautiful in its own way. As a cis woman who also doesn’t feel as feminine as I’d like to sometimes, drawing cute characters is very cathartic in the same way, so this song struck a chord. Harumaki Gohan’s previous songs have also resonated with me and many others as well, in a reassuring “I know how it feels“ kind of way. So in short this AMV is very self-indulgent.
