CGI in 4K: “IMAX® Pre-Show Intro 2015“ - by Timothy Evans

Check out this sweet CGI IMAX pre-show sequence created by the talented Timothy Evans! Tim was responsible for the creative, direction, visual design and all the 3D animation and compositing. Tim“s Website - Made using Maya with Mental Ray and Cinema 4D with it’s physical renderer. A number of custom shaders were created and used to feed multiple passes to After Effects for compositing. Many different After Effects plugins including Genarts Sapphire and Trapcode Particular were used to create the additional visual effects in the sequence. Maya fluids also played a part in creating puffs of smoke to illustrate the powerful sound system. Some elements such as the beams of light from the crystal were designed and created entirely within After Effects using traditional key framing techniques.
