Blacking out when pulling 9G in The Centrifuge (9G Blackout / GLOC)

Blacking out when pulling 9G in The Centrifuge (9G Blackout / GLOC) In 2007, I participated in centrifuge training at Brooks City Base, TX. The purpose of the training sessions was to build my tolerance to higher G-Forces (gravitational forces) while providing physiological and psychological data to the research team, and to test various equipment for it’s ability to help sustain the G-Forces. This video captures my first time attempting to hold 9G, which ended in blacking out. During future sessions, I was able to build my tolerance to sustain 9G for longer periods each time. The centrifuge used was made of an enclosed gondola where the seat was, which attached to a 25-foot long arm, connected to a series of 4x 250 horsepower motors that spun up at a rate of 6G per second.
