Swiss national orienteering in Flumserberg | Swiss Alps | OL

On October 2 and 3, a national orienteering was held in Switzerland in Flumserberg. In the orientation race, the goal is to find the marked posts with the help of a map. The posts are scattered all over the terrain and are numbered. You have to find them in the right order. You often have to run crosswise and can’t always run on a path. In orienteering, people of all ages participate. There are categories where you can enter your age group and open categories where everyone can participate. Most orienteering events take place in a forest. Sometimes there are orienteering events in the mountains or in cities. In national orienteering events, special landscapes are often chosen, like here at the Flumserberg. My dad is an avid orienteer. I accompanied him on these two days and participated myself on one day in the open short category. I love reading maps and running through nature anyway. These are real little adventures for me.
