BTS Jin is returning to fans after completing his military service. The eldest member of BTS, Jin joined the Korean army in December 2022. To celebrate Jin’s return, all six members have taken a leave from their military posts for a reunion. Jin will be meeting with fans tomorrow at the 2024 FESTA in-person event, scheduled at the Jamsil Sports Complex. After the post-military discharge ceremony, there will be a hugging session with 1,000 fans. This event was arranged per Jin’s request in the hopes of spending an intimate and meaningful time with fans. Another member of BTS, J-Hope, is also being discharged in October. There are high expectations of Jin and J-hope returning to the public as a subunit. BTS will return as one in June 2025, when all seven members have completed their military service. In Korea, it is mandatory for all men to enlist in the military. BTS members’ enlistment was controversial in South Korea; the members’ voluntary decision to enlist was well received by the public.
