A Normal Life - Red Breasted Acara(Laetacara dorsigera)

This video shows the normal life of my red breasted acara(Laetacara dorsigera). My acara, probably female, tends to hover right above the bottom of my nano tank. As my acara needs various nutrition, She also loves to peck soil particles or leaves that might contain organic matter. At 00:29, she suddenly darkens her body after one honey gourami(Trichogaster chuna) approached in front of her. I succesfully recorded the moment that several black stripes and purple area appeared on her body. Although red breasted acara is omnivorous species, it seldom hunts large crustaceans such as adult Neocaridina shrimp. As we can see at 00:49, my acara didn’t deliver lethal attack against Neocaridina shrimp. Instead, she just expressed curiousity to the shrimp. #redbreastedacara #laetacaradorsigera #normallife
