Nicanor Abelardo - Kundiman for Violin and Piano (1923) Alan Chen (violin and piano) ------------------ Nicanor Abelardo’s Kundiman for Violin was a product made during his studies as a student at the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music in the years of 1916-1921. Later published in 1923, this early Kundiman was likely one of Abelardo’s earliest; as evident with its simpler harmonies and similarities to his early Kundimans “Kung Hindi Man“ of 1920 and “Ang Aking Bayan“ of 1922.
