George Harrison - Sue Me Sue You Blues (Live 1974 Neon Chimp Edit).

Making this video was a bit like putting together a 500 piece jigzaw puzzle with 495 missing pieces. While there is about 30 seconds of footage of George performing this song, the clips are from very random parts of the song. So in order for this video to work I had to improvise a lot and use whatever I could find that would fit. One of the good things about most of the footaage of this tour being somewhat blurred fan footage is that it makes it harder to tell what song is actually being performed anyway which in most cases is a disadvantage but for me it meant I could get away with more ’improvising’. I also used a lot more special effects than I have in previous videos. As a whole I’m quite pleased with how it turned out as there was a few moments of “this is never going to work“ when I was putting it together. Once agan the audio is from Fort Worth Texas and the video is from all over the place. The one main difference though is that there is about 3 seconds of pro shot film. At least one concert was filmed from this tour and there was talk of it being released on DVD a few years back (although it still hasn’t happened and I’m not going to hold my breath). Since then there hasn’t been much more said about it, but in the EPK for the new George Harrison compilation album ’Let It Roll’, there is 2 very short clips (no more than 5 seconds long) from the 1974 tour. One shot shows George singing and playing an Acoustic guitar (either from Dark Horse or Give Me Love) and the other (the one featured in this video) shows George playing Lead Guitar on a brownish coloured Fender Strat (which is the Guitar he used for Sue Me Sue You Blues in the fan footage). A big thanks to everyone who has uploaded footage from this tour as without it none of these videos would have been possible, and I guess I should also say thanks to Dark Horse Records and Olivia Harrison as they also provided around 3 seconds of footage. I still might do more as there is still a fair bit of footage I haven’t used and it would be nice to get as many songs done as possible. While it would be pretty much impossible to put together a full concert (without reusing the same bits of footage over and over much like the Beatles 1964 Hollywood Bowl video), I’d like to put together enough to keep the fans going until Dark Horse Records does release their pro shot show (and the 1991 Japan shows) on DVD.
