Pink Floyd’s “Dogs,” Recreated

The completion of my Animals trilogy. Please subscribe! Recording notes: In 1998, Stove Clock and I did an audio-only recreation of “Dogs” on my Tascam 38 half-inch 8-track tape machine. Some of the tracks, like the “stone“ repeat echo and the barking dog (a neighbor’s, recorded out my window for a half hour, with 13 clips then sampled and sequenced along with a wolf-howl sound effect), turned out well and were a lot of work — so I restored the Tascam 38 specifically to digitize those tracks, and then promptly sold it on craigslist for $40. In this video, the Tascam 38 appears when sounds from the old recreation are playing.
